              HER EARLY LIFE

Rosa was born in Tuskegee, Alabama on February 4, 1913 as Rosa Louise McCauley. Her farther, James McCauley, was a carpenter, and her mother, Leona Edwards was a teacher. When her parents was separated, Rosa moved with her mother to Pine Level just outside of Montgomery, Alabama.  She grew up on a farm with her maternal grandparents, mother, and younger brother, Slylvester.

 

LATER ON IN HER LIFE

 

In  1932, Rosa married a barber, Raymond Parks.  They  both were members of the National Association for the Advance of Coloured People, (NAACP).  Rosa served as the secretary of the Montgomery chapter.  On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks left Montgomery Fair, the department store where she worked, and got on the same bus as she did every day and night.  When the bus became full, the driver instructed Rosa to give  up her seat to a white man.  Rosa refused to give up her seat  and was arrested by the pollice once again.

 

ROSA TIME LINE

1913-Rosa parks was born on Feb. 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama to James McCauley and Leona Edwards.

 

1955-  Dec. 1, 1955 Rosa Parks, a mulatto who refused to give up her seat on a segregated bus, was once arrested in Montgomery AL.  She also lead the Civil Rights Movement.

 

 

A MOMENT OF SILENT

On Monday October 24, 2005 the mother of Civil Right Movement went at rest. She was a darling lady.  She died at the age of 92.  Rosa Parks will be truely missed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a movie about Rosa Parks that may be interesting to you. A lot of people try to discredit Ms. Parks, but in my opinion, she is very important to Black History. Good job!
