- Harriet Tubman was born in 1820, Dorchester Country, Maryland.

Harriet Tubman was reverently called "Moses" by the hundreds slaves she helped to freedom and the thousands of others she inspired.

Her early life as a slave had been filled with abuse, at the age of 13, when she attempted to save another slave from punshiment, she was strunk in the head with a two-pound iron weight. Harriet Tubman was a true hero. I always wonder would America be the way it is today if people like her never existed.
