Hello this is Alex Cross. I am doing my project on Colin Powell. He was born on April 5, 1937. He was raised in South Bronx. Collin Powell was also the Secretary of Sta
te. On Septemeber 11, 2001, Powell was in Lima, Peru, meeting with President Alejandro Toledo and US ambassador to Peru John Hamilton. He was attending special session of the OAS General Assembly that subsequently adopted the Inter-American Democratic Charter. After September 11, Powell's job became of critical importance in managing America's relationships. Powell worked with foriegn countries in order to secure a stable coalition in War on Terrorism. He was commisioned second lieutenuant in the United States Army. By his oustanding work he was awarded the Soldiers Metal. Colin Powell also served as assistant comander, and deputy commander of Infantry divisions in Colorado and Kansas. He also wrote his on autobiography called, "My Journey." He is a great role model for many people to look up to.
